Welcome to Finessing Finances! I feel like the first thing that should be done on any blog is to take the time out to allow the audience to really get to know the person behind the content.
So, I decided to do some searching and find some interesting, fun, and personal questions for you all to get to know me. I’d love to hear about you all as well, so please don’t hesitate to answer some of the questions in the comments or even shoot me an email at Bria@finessingfinances with the answers if you don’t want everybody and their mama to know all about you!
I hope I can look back on these questions and answers one day to see if anything’s changed!
Now on to the good stuff: Welcome to my life!
- Tell us five random facts about yourself:
- I listen to Wonder Woman’s Wrath daily as motivation.
- I’m currently living in South Korea as an English teacher.
- I’ve never watched Doctor Who.
- I have three tattoos: a rose, Harley Quinn’s mallet and baseball bat, and Avenged Sevenfold lyrics
- I’m a very picky eater.
- What was your favorite subject in school?
I really enjoyed Language Arts and English. I always thought that science was interesting, but not enough for it to be a favorite.
- What is your zodiac sign?
- What are your current makeup/skin care favorites?
Right now, my favorite foundation is the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra LongWear Foundation. It’s a very natural looking, long-lasting foundation. I love the NYX matte liquid eyeliner. I used to have the biggest dislike for liquid liner because I would always get it in my eyes, but as I’ve matured, so have my eyeliner skills, lol! For a facial cleanser, I’m a big fan of this new face wash that I recently discovered from Bioré. It’s a baking soda deep pore cleanser and it leaves my skin feeling so smooth and refreshed afterwards. My go-to face masks are the Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting face mask and the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask.
- If you won the lottery, what would you do?
The first thing that I would do is sign the back of the ticket, lol. This simple preventative measure is something that most people don’t even think of. If someone steals your winning ticket or you lose it and there’s no signature on it, they can now claim it as theirs. After that, get a team of financial advisers together. Second, I would create a college fund for my younger sister so that she has nothing to worry about financially and neither do my parents. Third, I would pay off any and all debts that myself and my family owe, and finally, I would invest and monitor/spend the money wisely.
- Why did you decide to start blogging?
I never really thought much about blogging or doing much of anything career wise based on the internet. After searching around on Pinterest for ways to make extra money, save money and work on paying down credit card debt, I came across a lot of information that came from different blogs. I realized that I could also help people get further ahead in life by publicly giving out information and I loved the idea of it. The fact that I could also make money from it and potentially eliminate the need for a traditional job was also very appealing. 😉
- What’s your main financial goal?
As it stands, I have two main goals when it comes to money: becoming debt free (both credit card debt and student loans) and becoming financially independent.
- Favorite drink?
- Favorite color?
I have two: Purple and mint
- Who knows about your blog?
My best friends, my mom, my aunts, my boyfriend, a few select people, and the people that follow my blog Instagram. Other than that, I haven’t really mentioned anything yet.
- Does your real job have anything to do with money or finances?
Nope, not at all. I’m currently working as as English teacher in South Korea.
- What’s the last thing that you bought?
The last thing that I bought was a pair of comfy PJ pants from a store in Daegu, South Korea for 5,000 won (US $4.50)
- Do you have any pets?
Yes! I have two dogs right now through my dad, Chloe and Caesar, and I’m hoping to adopt one of my own.
- Favorite blog?
- What phone do you have?
I have a rose gold iPhone 6s.
- Who was the last person you texted?
My boyfriend and he was telling me that he was proud of me.
- What countries have you visited and where would you like to go next?
So far, I’ve been to Japan, England, France and South Korea. I’d like to add China, Italy, and Indonesia to that list in the near future.
- What’s one thing most people probably don’t know about you?
I love to read fan fiction online. All kinds of fan fiction: Harry Potter, anime, you name it, lol.
- Do you prefer warm weather or cold?
This is a no-brainer: I’m definitely a sun kind-of-girl. If the wind blows one degree below normal, I’m shivering. Living in South Korea has made me a little more resistant to freezing though.
- Do you have any fears?
I have trypophobia. My skin literally crawls when I see a group of holes like that. Google it if you’re not sure what I’m talking about.
- What quote or phrase do you live by?
As lame as this may sound (thanks, Drake), you only live once. That’s all there is to it. You can’t be afraid to try things. I don’t want to look back on my life and regret anything.
- Are you married?
No, not yet. 🙂
- Favorite day of the week?
- If you could give your younger self from advice, any advice, what would it be?
I’d tell myself to get out more and socialize. I’d also tell myself to stick to just one credit card. The intentions
were good, but things just got out of hand. The last piece of advice would be to date your current boyfriend a few years earlier, haha!
- Can you cook?
Yes, I can! It’s something that I really enjoy actually!
And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen! I’m nothing but honest and transparent, so if you’d like to know anything else, please feel free to contact me! Now, let me know a little something about you down in the comments.
